Quickstart

1. Request early access

Self-serve sign-up is not open yet. Request early access to get an API key and the API base URL for your account. The key is issued by hand, so keep the full value somewhere private as soon as you receive it. Do not put it in browser code or a public repository.

Every call goes to https://api.justapi.tech.

2. Make a call

This call is free. It returns your account and its prepaid balance, which confirms the key works.

3. Compress it

The response includes a download URL, the compression ratio, what the engine decided and why, and what you were charged.

4. Go async for anything large

The request returns 202 with a job_id. The result arrives at your webhook when it is ready.

5. Clean up

Results are deleted after 60 minutes automatically. If you want them gone the moment you have them:

Common mistakes

Sending large files as base64. It inflates the payload by a third and hits request size limits. Send a url instead.

Not deduplicating webhooks. They are delivered at least once, which means sometimes twice. Check X-Webhook-Id.

Skipping the idempotency key. A retried workflow becomes a second billable job without it.

Storing the key in client-side code. Anyone can read it. Keys belong on your server.
